DC Circulator is Now Free

DC Circulator is Now Free

The DC Circulator will now be free indefinitely, according to DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.
Speaking at her annual State of the District address, Mayor Bowser declared that riding DC Circulator will now be free, and renewed commitment to public transit. This is after a successful pilot in February and March 2019. The Mayor added that, “we can’t move our region forward by further clogging our roads. We know a resilient and sustainable transportation system is the key to building a resilient and sustainable city.”

We can’t move our region forward by further clogging our roads. We know a resilient and sustainable transportation system is the key to building a resilient and sustainable city.
– Mayor Bowser

The Mayor noted that plans are currently at an advanced stage to expand DC Circulator ridership to other wards in the near future, starting with ward7.

DC Circulator is requesting riders  to board using the front doors only so that it can properly keep track of daily ridership.

Although we no longer require fare payment upon entry, riders must board using the front doors only so that we can properly keep track of daily ridership. This information helps us monitor the quality of our service and provides critical information for planning and operations.
