DC Council Set To Become A Women Majority

DC Council is set to become a women majority following the just concluded elections.

Janeese George is the new Councilwoman for Ward 4, while Brooke Pinto takes over Ward 2. New comer Christina Henderson defeated long term councilman Vincent Orange to clinch a DC Council at-large slot. Ms. Henderson will be serving alongside Robert White who was the overall winner.

This makes me happy! I think that that representation matters, and that we are adding to the number of Black women who are leading in all three branches of our government. So I’m very proud of that. – Mayor Bowser
