DC mayor Muriel Bowser on Monday unveiled a new mobile notification tool as part of its arsenal in the fight against COVID- 19.
According to DC health officials, the new DC COVID Alert Notice (CAN) will help residents know if they may have been exposed to COVID 19.
This technology was created for the sole purpose of helping to stop the spread of COVID-19. The Exposure Notifications System will be disabled once the pandemic reaches a point that no longer necessitates the use of this technology.

The app which is available on iPhone and android will be officially launched on Tuesday October 20th through a push notification to DC residents.
