DC United on Sunday broke its long goalless streak by upsetting FC Cincinnati 2-1.
Center back Donovan Pines scored the first goal in the 36th minute to give United a lead that lasted through the first half of the match.
Despite tremendous efforts by Cincinnati to equalize through Brandon Vasquez in the 66th, the team came short in the second half. United cruised passed their opponents when Odoi-Atsem buried the ball in the back of FC Cincinnati’s net through a rebound in the 78th minute.
