It’s A Sigh Of Relief For Ben’s Chili Bowl

DC patrons have a reason to smile because Ben’s Chili Bowl is here to stay.

The Iconic DC restaurant is the latest beneficiary of federally Paycheck Protection Program Loans after their application was approved for the second round of funding.

The restaurant has not be spared by the Coronavirus pandemic, and is currently doing delivery and takeout’s at the U Street location, while the other locations remain closed.

We’re so thankful with what we’ve been given by the city that our job is to give back and to support and to bring something to the community. – Virginia Ali

According to the Department of Treasury, the Paycheck Protection Program is a loan program that originated from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The nearly $350-billion program is intended to provide American small businesses with eight weeks of cash-flow assistance through 100 percent federally guaranteed loans.

Choose DC wishes Ben’s Chili Bowl all the best in the next phase of recovery journey.
