New DC Street to Honor African American NASA Pioneers

The District of Columbia on Wednesday honored three renowned African American women for their contribution in the Space Program at NASA.

According to D.C. Department of Transportation (DDOT), the 300 block of E Street SW in front of the NASA Headquarters building has been designated as Hidden Figures Way, to honor Katherine Johnson, Dorthy Vaughan Mary Jackson and all women for overcoming discrimination and segregation, and contributing immensely to the space program of the United States.

Today is a celebration of women. African American pioneers. American heroes. This is a wonderful day.
