Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez announced on Sunday that two players have since tested positive for COVID-19.
According the team, the test results were submitted from intake testing. The team added that fifty-eight players have taken tests so far, with additional tests expected from international players. The team is currently operating with 58 players after Joe Ross, Wellington Castillo and Ryan Zimmerman elected to stay out due to health concerns.
It definitely hurts. One, you think about the player. Two, right away you think about families — if they have kids — and hope that they’re all OK. … For me, I just hope that they come out of it OK and they’re back with us as soon as possible.– Dave Martinez
