The Washington Mystics yesterday defeated the Connecticut Sun 89-78 to earn the team’s first WNBA Championship in history.
The Mystics who have been in the league since 1998, also set the franchise record in a crucial winner-take all game 5 that was played in Washington DC. The Finals MVP, Emma Meesseman had 22 points, while Jonquel Jones of the Suns had 25 points and 9 rebounds.
