The 2022 Marine Corp Marathon  Is This Weekend

The  2022 edition of Marine Corps Marathon is this Sunday, October 30, 2022.

The marathon which is in its 47th year returns after a two year hiatus due to Covid-19 pandemic, and is expected to welcome over 25000 participants. The Marine Corp Marathon is the largest marathon in the world that doesn’t offer prize money, earning its nickname, “The People’s Marathon.”

According to the MPD, The following streets will have  No Parking from 2:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

  • 7th Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 14th Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • M Street from Canal Road to Wisconsin Avenue, NW
  • Canal Road from Arizona Avenue to Foxhall Road, NW
  • Wisconsin Avenue from Wisconsin Avenue to K Street, NW
  • K Street from 27th Street to Wisconsin Avenue, NW
  • Madison Drive from 3rd Street to 15th Street, NW
  • Jefferson Drive from 3rd Street to 15th Street, SW
  • Independence Avenue from 23rd Street to 12th Street, SW

From approximately 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the following streets will be closed to traffic:

  • 7th Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 14th Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • M Street from Canal Road to Wisconsin Avenue, NW
  • Canal Road from Arizona Avenue to Foxhall Road, NW
  • Wisconsin Avenue from Wisconsin Avenue to K Street, NW
  • K Street from 27th Street to Wisconsin Avenue, NW
  • Madison Drive from 3rd Street to 15th Street, NW
  • Jefferson Drive from 3rd Street to 15th Street, SW
  • Independence Avenue from 23rd Street to 12th Street, SW
  • Rock Creek Parkway from Calvert Street to Ohio Drive, NW
  • 14th Street from Independence Avenue to the 14th Street Bridge, SW
  • HOV lanes of the 14th Street Bridge
  • Key Bridge
  • Memorial Bridge
