Paul Menhart is the New Washington Nationals Pitching Coach

The Washington Nationals have named Paul Menhart as their pitching coach. Menhart who has been  serving as the organization’s Minor League pitching coordinator for 14 seasons since 2015, replaces Derek Lilliquist who has been let go.

Menhart has been serving as the organization’s Minor League pitching coordinator for 14 seasons since 2015. During his tenure in the Minor League, he has influenced the development and has had consistent exposure to nearly every pitcher in Washington’s organization.

Menhart joined the organization from Western Carolina University where he spent three years (2003–05) as their pitching coach. He was selected in the eighth round of the 1990 First-Year Player Draft out of Western Carolina. He appeared in 41 games across three Major League seasons with San Diego (1997), Seattle (1996) and Toronto (1995).
