Frances Tiafoe Is Making History At The US Open

DC area native, Frances Tiafoe this week made history by being the first American male to qualify for the US Opens Semis since 2006.

Tiafoe, a son of an African immigrant is a classic story of what one can achieve through hardwork, perseverance and dedication. Tiafoe had earlier pulled a fast on the 22-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal in the fourth round, before cruising past Andrey Rublev to qualify for the semis slated for friday. He becomes the first black man to reach the US Open semis since Arthur Ashe in 1972.

I love to show the world what I can do. I just want to go out there and try to give the crowd what they want  and that’s me getting the win. – Frances Tiafoe
