A New Program To Support Returning Citizen Entrepreneurs

The DC Department of Small & Local Business Development (DSLBD) and the Mayor’s Office on African American Affairs (MOAAA) are holding a virtual entrepreneurship training for returning citizens on Monday 04/05/2021 from 3pm to 4pm.

The program dubbed “Aspire to Entrepreneurship” aims to support returning citizens as they as they launch and run their own businesses. According to Mayor Bowser’s Office, WeAspire 2021 will support both aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners, in a program that combines business training, one-on-one mentorship, and interactive sessions.

Participants who complete both the training and the pitch night will be eligible for $2,000 – $10,000 each in funds to start or scale their business
