The first Open Streets event is coming to the District of Columbia on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 10am to 2pm along Georgia Ave. NW.
According to DDOT, nearly three miles of the avenue will be closed to motor-vehicle traffic, allowing residents to walk, bike along and in the roadway and enjoy a wide range of activities for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Some of the activity highlights will include biking, skating, aerobics, shopping, and more.
Open Streets will temporarily create a car-free Georgia Ave., which will allow residents to engage in healthy activities suitable for all ages and abilities. – Mayor Bowser
