The National Gallery of Arts (NGA) has announced that the 2024 edition of the National Gallery Nights will return starting Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the East Building,
According the NGA, the popular after-hours program dubbed “A Night In Paris,” will feature themed evenings with French music, film, live performances, artmaking, food, pop-up talks, and more. Attendees can expect to go back in time and travel to the City of Light with a unique after-hours visit to the exhibition Paris 1874: The Impressionist Moment , featuring paintings by Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and their fellow impressionist artists.
Due to the popularity of National Gallery Nights, and to give everyone an equal chance of attending, registration is available through a lottery system. The lottery takes place the week before each event. It opens on Monday at 10:00 a.m. and closes Thursday at noon. Lottery entrants will be notified whether or not they were selected to register the Friday before each program. Passes are available at the East Building entrance—first come, first served—starting at 5:30 p.m.
