Metro Fest Celebration Is This Saturday

Metro will be hosting it second Metro Fest Celebration this weekend at Branch Avenue Station.

Last year’s event held at Franconia-Springfield Station was a huge success with over 1,300 in attendance. Metro Fest is a community event open to the public at no cost. The event includes arts and crafts, games, entertainment, snacks, water, and Metro-branded giveaways. The goal of Metro Fest is to connect with the region in a fun way and educate transit enthusiasts of all ages about the value of transit in our communities.

Participants will meet Metro staff and have an opportunity to learn about transit while touring a rail car, an electric bus, and our historic Rosa Parks bus. On-site will also include Metro’s fire truck, MTPD’s bomb squad vehicle, track and structure equipment, and more.

Media planning to attend should RSVP no later than Saturday, July 27 at 8 a.m. with your estimated time of arrival by using the online form at wmata.com/media.
