DC residents have one more reason to look up at the skies this Friday while commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.
According to the organizers, Arsenal of Democracy, approximately 70 World War II aircrafts will take to the skies over Washington D.C. on September 25th. Starting at 11:30am ET. The historically sequenced warbird formations will fly over the Washington Mall in two minute intervals. The formations will represent the War’s major battles concluding with a missing man formation.
The event dubbed World War II Victory Commemoration Flyover, was originally scheduled for May this year but had to be postponed due to Covid-19.
