The Capitals Re-Assign Carl Hagelin to a 4-Year, $11M Contract Extension

The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Carl Hagelin to a four-year, $11 million contract extension, with an average annual value of $2.75 million.

A two-time Stanley Cup winner (2016 and 2017), Hagelin has 48 points (22g, 26a) in 128 career playoff games, which is tied with Alex Ovechkin for the second-most playoff games among the Capitals (Orpik: 156) and tied for the 14th most among active NHL forwards. Additionally, Hagelin’s 237:14 minutes of penalty kill time in the playoffs is the seventh most among active forwards.
